 Transportation Systems Design, Inc. (TSD), has gained national exposure and recognition through the work of key personnel on Georgia Department of Transportation design projects. TSD is a Women's Business Enterprise headquartered in DeKalb County, Georgia, certified by both the Georgia and South Carolina DOTs, City of Atlanta, Fulton County and MARTA. Since its formation in 1992, TSD has worked on over 500 roadway, transportation planning, intersection and bridge projects encompassing more than 700 miles. Our work in Georgia has been for such clients as Athens-Clarke County Government; the City of Atlanta; Bibb County, Cobb County, Dawson County, and Gwinnett County; DeKalb-Peachtree Airport; Fulton County DPW; the City of Columbus Engineering Department, the City of College Park Engineering Departments, and the Army Corps of Engineers. TSD has also worked for the US Agency for International Development. The services the firm has provided have been all-encompassing, including: traffic capacity analysis; conceptual, preliminary, final and right-of-way plans for roadway and intersection projects; drainage design; surveying; in-house GPS surveying; right-of-way staking; CAiCE, CEAL and MicroStation consulting; aerial mapping; landscape architecture, recreation facilities, site designs, signilization plans, and erosion control plans. TSD's growth has been steady. In 1993 Transportation Systems Design, Inc. established its surveying department. In 1997 TSD opened a second office in Lawrenceville, approximately a 30-minute drive from both Atlanta and Athens. In 1998 we established a Landscape Architecture Department, and in 1999 we established an Aerial Mapping Department. Our Dawsonville office was established in 2001. We have 44 full-time employees including: 4 Professional Engineers, 2 Registered Land Surveyors, 1 Engineers-in-Training, 1 Registered Landscape Architect, and 2 Land Surveyors in Training. Our technical personnel are capable of working in the following
software for transportation, civil and drainage design, reports,
and analysis as well as surveying and landscape architecture:
Our office staff uses the latest and most advanced computers. Our field personnel utilize our own Trimble Real-Time GPS units along with 11 Total Stations including 1st Order, Robotic and Reflectorless units. Key firm members have prior employment with such organizations as the Cobb County DOT; Environmental Protection Agency; City of Hagerstown, MD; US Forest Service and several international consulting firms.
